Wednesday Night 2026 — Race 4

Race 4 of the Wednesday Night Racing brought out 13 boats for a wonderfully warm evening. The winds were very spotty when the RC went out in search of wind but in true fashion the wind gods answered the call. Before the 6:30 start the wind filled in from the south with a mark set at 180 deg from the start line at .6 miles away. The RC set a W6 course and amazingly the wind stayed up for 5 of the 6 legs. The last leg of the race the wind moved clockwise about 90 deg to the west. Some of the boats stayed out in the middle of the lake for that last leg and seemed to make out over those that stayed closer to Long Island. There was a good battle between Uncle Ludwig leading and Stinger not too far behind. Woot had stayed east on leg 6 and had to tack back to the finish line costing alot of time, but they managed to finish 1st with line honors. Sting sailed a course a little more to the west than Uncle Ludwig and managed to catch the westerly winds to pull ahead of Uncle Ludwig at the finish. Congratulations to the crew of Stinger on a 1st overall with Woot 8 seconds behind on CT for 2nd and Uncle Ludwig for 3rd.
