Wednesday Night 2026 — Race 1

« Back to Event

Date: 2026-05-13 • Wind: Medium

With last weeks racing being canceled because of 47 deg, heavy rain with poor visibility, the 2026 Wednesday Night Racing got underway.  Seven boats came out to start the season.  Mother nature cooperated with winds out of the south at about 6 knots and the rain earlier pushed off to the east giving a good race.  The RC set a W4 course with the windward mark set about .7 miles to the south of the start/finish line.  Since all boats had checked in early the decision was made to start the races a few minutes early.  With Machelle as the flag person, the race got off with a good start.  At mark 1 leading the fleet was Woot followed by Uncle Ludwig and Stinger.  The 2nd leg had Woot take a starboard jibe to the east with Uncle Ludwig and Stinger jibing early to port to get out into the center of the lake for some better pressure.  At mark 2 the order was the same as mark 1.  Woot managed to stay ahead of the fleet and finished with line honors.  There was a tight finish for the next two boats with Stinger crossing the line just ahead of Uncle Ludwig.  Congratulations to Stinger and crew for 1st on corrected time with Uncle Ludwig in 2nd and Woot in 3rd.  The results for tonight's race may be found online at www.lakegeorgeracing.com.
