Wednesday Night Racing was a warm night of sailing with a very hazy yellowish glow from the wild fires burning in Canada. Luckily for most of us we could not smell it. With the winds blowing from a 350 deg direction the RC set a W4 course using marks with the start/finish line a mile away. On the RC boat besides Machelle and Tiffany we had 2 other guest, my wife Pat and daughter Donna from Texas. Donna asks that if anyone would like to have her come on board to sail with you this next wednesday night, she would be pleased. Contact me with a reply.
The race got off with a clean start. From the RC prospective it seamed that those that stayed more center course up wind did the best. At mark 1 Stinger lead the fleet at 15:06 followed closely by Woot and Eclat. Woot elected to take a early jib at the mark and headed out away from the western shore to get into more wind velocity. That worked for the as they led the fleet rounding mark 2 at 26:49 followed by Stinger, Eclat and Knot on Call at 29:21. On the 3rd leg upwind Woot went left but Stinger stayed to the center of the course and rounded ahead of Woot at mark 3. Woot had some issue at that mark and fell behind others on the downwind run to the finish. Congratulations to Stinger on line honors and 1st on corrected time followed by Brass Ring (Where did they come from!) and Eclat.
