Wednesday Night 2026 — Race 13

The 13th race for the Wednesday Night Series brought out 17 boats for what looked like NO Wind. The RC with Tiffany and Brandy decided to drop a mark toward Long Island with the possibility of using that mark IF the wind filled in. Since the RC was early we decided to take a ride around Speeker Heck and Long Island. When we go near the north tip of L.I. we noticed the was some wind filling in so we headed out into the center of the lake to evaluate the wind direction and strength. To our surprise it was coming from about 210 degrees so North Canoe was selected as windward for a W4 course. At the start of the race the wind swung some more clockwise. With the winds being finicky some boats opted to go west in hopes of a nice lift. They got the lift but the header tack to get there cost them valuable time. As the race progressed the wind velocity dropped so the RC pulled anchor and headed to the windward mark 3 to shorten the course. On the 3rd leg the wind filled in that would have allowed all 4 legs to be completed but the time would have been over an hours, so it was shortend. Congratulations to the crew of EClat for 1st on line honors and corrected time followed by Stinger in 2nd and Brass Ring for 3rd.
