LA Jews for Peace published a
statement
LA Jews for Peace statement shows
that BDS is not inherently anti-Semitic. The statement shows that
the double standard accusation that BDS is anti-Semitic is
unrealistic and that BDS is prompted by the call of Palestinians
to fight for Palestinian rights.
The statement also shows that BDS does not deny Israel’s
right to exist by promoting the Palestinian right of return. Rather, the right of return
is supported by a need for Palestinians to regain their homes
and land lost in the Nakba.

This statement relates to the Israel
Anti-Boycott Act (S-720 & HR-1697) which was recently
rejected by the Senate, but will likely be brought up again.
Much of the impetus for S-720 & HR-1697 is the assertion
that the BDS movement is anti-Semitic, and that bill is needed
to fight that anti-Semitism. This statement shows that argument
is fallacious.
