Good Morning,

This email is to let you know in advance that the County of Los Angeles
Department of Public Health (DPH) intends to release a Request for
Proposals (RFP) on or about November 19, 2009.  DPH will fund
approximately eight initiatives at approximately $125,000 per year for
two years.  Please note that the funding for this RFP is contingent upon
DPH receiving grant funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment
Act.

The RFP will address obesity prevention through policy, systems, and
environmental change that increases access to physical activity and
healthy foods.  The RFP will solicit proposals from cities,
community-based organizations, and school districts in Los Angeles
County.  Applicants will be required to form partnerships with one or
more of these entities in order to apply for funding.  We encourage
interested agencies to begin planning with your existing and/or
potential partners.

A Bidders' Conference will be held on Monday, November 23rd at 1:30 p.m.
The location is to be determined.  Proposals will be due on Monday,
December 21st at 5 p.m.  Applicants will be notified of funding decision
on or about February 27, 2010.
