I have a model that has the same white box scenic component used in various forms and I would like to be able to apply a picture to it to see what the potential projection would look like. Is there a way to apply the one jpeg texture (in this case the blue shooting stars) stretched across multiple components?

Unfortunately, You can apply textures to different components but it will not map correctly. You will want to apply textures to the face but as they are all the same component, you still wont get the results you are wanting.
Option 2 - You can select one the textured tiles and then change the mapping via the Texture > Position feature. After you have remapped the texture on the tile, you can sample the new mapping from the tile and apply it to the other tiles.
robertjuch, thank you for this option. This works well. The only thing is I have to be mindful of the grouping of the tiles. Sometimes I have multiple clusters that I want to apply different textures to.
After applying textures, you can group them in separated groups Triple click on each box (in my case double click on each face) will select all edges and surfaces on each element and custom keyboard shortcut for grouping will help you make it faster.
Because I need a material with same resolution for many objects of different sizes.
I also know real size of photo that I use as a material texture. I know that 1024 pixels are like 1024 mm +/-.
Doing it my way I import texture just once, and if I use it for multiple objects (sometimes 50 or more) - texture has same scale (matches with other objects), no matter if object has 10mm or 3 meters.
Thanks Andy, all models that have repetitive parts would maintain in this case a defined geometry and
have realistic non repetitive textures, all within a smaller file size. It would be just perfect.
So I make a model with Blender. A shirt with logos. Then in my Babylon.js file, I want to generate text to be assigned as texture in the logos. No matter what I do the generated texture is upside down.
So the trick is with setTransform()? Could you help me explain the parameters, because I my dynamic texture size is dynamic width: dynamicWidth, height: dynamicHeight. What is the 128 in the parameter?
Yes since dynamic texture is basically just a canvas setTransform() should work.
Oh my bad I copy and pasted that from my code. 128 should be replaced with your texture height.

There are all the nodes, but nothing does anything. Screenshot from simple test project attached. It has a texture variable, which sets the texture parameter of a material istance. If I toogle from default compression to HDR, it sets the drop down menu in the texture to default or HDR, but actually does not compress the texture at all to the new setting. Same with texture brightness and basically all texture parameters. I have all the nodes in blueprints to manipulate the textures, but nothing does anything. Is there some well hidden tick or command that I have to use to get this working and manipulate my textures from blueprints during runtime?
Just spent several hours in 4.27 debugging the issue and turn out it was texture settings not being applied after changing it from blueprint / python script.
Is there any workaround for that - a way to force texture update with new settings?
In photoshop, you can take a photo image and apply it into a layer mask, then adjust it to create the desired tshirt graphic worn texture look. (see images) Can this be done in Affinity Photo? I have been playing around with the masks and haven't yet figured it out.
I'm attempting to learn SDL2 and am having difficulties from a practical perspective. I feel like I have a good understanding of SDL windows, renderers, and textures from an abstract perspective. However, I feel like I need to know more about what's going on under the hood to use them appropriately.
For example, when creating a texture I am required to provide a reference to a renderer. I find this odd. A texture seems like it is a resource that is loaded into VRAM. Why should I need to give a resource a reference to a renderer? I understand why it would be necessary to give a renderer a reference to a texture, however, vice versa it doesn't make any sense.
I believe the reason a SDL_Texture requires a renderer is because some backend implementations (OpenGL?) have contexts (this is essentially what SDL_Renderer is) and the image data must be associated with that particular context. You cannot use a texture created in one context inside of another.
As keltar correctly points out none of the renderer's will work with a texture that was created with a different renderer due to a check in SDL_RenderCopy. However, this is strictly an API requirement to keep things consistent, my point above is to highlight that even if that check were absent it would not work for backends such as OpenGL, but there is no technical reason it would not work for the software renderer.

I finished modeling and making a texture for a coyote, but then decided I'd like to add some planes behind the legs and around the ruff so that I can add a texture that will make the coyote look more bushy. Below is a picture of my coyote with some rudimentary MS paint lines where I'd like to add planes that will simulate spiky fur when viewed from the side.
I can easily add more planes for the fringe, but in order to apply texture to them, I'd have to create a new UV wrap, which will make the UV map around which I based my existing texture useless. Is there an easy way to add faces and textures to an already-textured object without ending up with an entirely new UV map?
So as far as i can tell, Drei only wraps a standard render target and a depth texture. Also, the blockiness comes from the fairly low resolution of the texture itself. My camera far and near work ok with the default depthTexture.type.
Using the stamp tool with an image works fine. But when I load an image for alpha in the stroke-stamp window and I try to make a stamp, my texture has no colour information anymore, only the alpha map gets stamped.
Am I missing something?

In this paper, we present TEXTure, a novel method for text-guided generation, editing, and transfer of textures for 3D shapes. Leveraging a pretrained depth-to-image diffusion model, TEXTure applies an iterative scheme that paints a 3D model from different viewpoints. Yet, while depth-to-image models can create plausible textures from a single viewpoint, the stochastic nature of the generation process can cause many inconsistencies when texturing an entire 3D object. To tackle these problems, we dynamically define a trimap partitioning of the rendered image into three progression states, and present a novel elaborated diffusion sampling process that uses this trimap representation to generate seamless textures from different views. We then show that one can transfer the generated texture maps to new 3D geometries without requiring explicit surface-to-surface mapping, as well as extract semantic textures from a set of images without requiring any explicit reconstruction. Finally, we show that TEXTure can be used to not only generate new textures but also edit and refine existing textures using either a text prompt or user-provided scribbles. We demonstrate that our TEXTuring method excels at generating, transferring, and editing textures through extensive evaluation, and further close the gap between 2D image generation and 3D texturing.

This works as intended. It was requested by me many years ago. Sampling with shading information is important for handpainted textures. And sampling from texture is important if you work with layers. Do not brak things you dont understand.
Can you explain how that is important?
Viewport shading is unreal, it is something that only depends on viewport. You can then get something totally different in the final render or spoil your paint job. There is no point in sampling colors other than the real colors of the texture if you are picking the color from the object you are working on.
