Hi All - Summer time - it is here! Good golly - where does the time go? When my Mom was 83 - she said " Her life went by like the snap of her finger"! I believe it.
This PM fresh fish will be arriving. Chef Matt special ordered grouper. I love this fish. Plus - a treat - fresh oysters in the shell!!!! And copper river, fresh, wild caught, salmon. Call your order in - especially for the salmon. I am sure looking forward to slurping-down some fresh oysters! Funny - I grew up eating fresh clams - I do not know why , but, my folks never ate oysters? Any ideas why?
Chef Matt finally made a bunch of "scotch eggs" . This is a hard boiled egg covered with sausage and then wrapped with bacon. Super good. Just bake them at 350 for about 20 min. and serve. I was so pleased - yesterday - 1st thing - a gal came in from a nursing home and bought 5 scotch eggs. She said a resident saw my newspaper ad and sent her over to buy some. How great is that?
I guess the econ. has picked up - cause I am seeing record numbers of clients walk threw my doors. Memorial Day & Dad's Day were huge. Can you imagine - 351 clients on a Sat? Anyway - I am gearing up for July 4th. I plan on having a hugh FARMER'S MARKET, again on my porch. Will have lots of Indiana stuff. Plus - lots of steak, chops, and brats on hand. Naturally - I will be open on the 4th - 10 to 4pm. Usual hours on Sat.
Will be running a special on BBQ, baby back ribs on the 4th too.
Will be demoing stuff again this Sat. Think I will demo ham salad and Chef Matt's "Aloa" brats.
