Why LAAC is silent?

Hello Members

Why LAAC is silent? This question has been hovering around since a few weeks especially after the Maintenance issue cropped up.

First and foremost some clarifications. LAAC is not an executive body. It cannot take decisions nor can it execute.  A few continues to scratch their head whether it has legitimacy? Yes, as long as members (the mail is delivered to 156 email accounts) wish to have this group, it is legitimate. No more scratching please.

But it is and will remain simply a group to disseminate information for and about the welfare of members of La Habitat. (READ THE DISCLAIMER BELOW)

The new responsibility of managing the Facilities has nothing to do with LAAC. It will continue to be a watchdog for ever sharing information and lobbying for betterment of the dwelling we live and the human beings we live with.

Even in the past we have cordially coordinated with Pacifica to provide facilities which were in the betterment of members and it was given with utmost ease.  The only regret we have is the failure to stop LH from becoming Guest Houses of various multinational companies. We will continue to take up the matter in future. In the meanwhile, continue to have discussions and debates for greater common good (without attacking any individual or taking out grudge on anyone) and also share your personal achievements. Please let the members know if any student from LH has achieved excellence in the examinations or any other personal landmarks.

As far as Facility Management is concerned, it is for the members to decide what is good for them. We have meetings where members can voice their concern or suggest ways to improve. The process to evolve the transition is under process and the selected block representatives are in a better condition to discuss and debate what is good for the place, only this process needs to be informed before any decisions are made.

We get a lot of mails on announcement sale of clothes and other personal business activities. We are sorry we cannot release these mails. Please note that only mails that is in public interest (in this case for betterment of LH Residents which includes sale of flat or intend to buy flat within premises) or which needs a debate and discussion or any activity related to personal achievement or some activities (non-commercial) are released. Even otherwise, it is a bad idea to commercially stitch or sell Kurtas, pyjamas in a residential area or make LH a commercial centre for selling any other items.

Dear Members,

 

The last we know was a Committee of 16 members was formed (decided in the last meeting) to carry the agenda forward (the maintenance matter).  If there is any update by the Committee, they may share with us if appropriate at this stage, lest we wait for them to come up with some suggestions / solutions.

 

However, in the larger interest it would be desirable to move forward ASAP because the next financial year has already started. 

 

The most important being the voting that was proposed – when is it going to be conducted. Whether all subscribe to this idea?

 

Whatever the majority in LH finally decide as to who will manage the facilities, let us decide that one person from each of the 16 blocks is atleast nominated for one year till march 2013 so that he represents the Block (it will be relatively easier to deal within the block) for the issues concerning the Block and should be part of the Core Committee of LH for further decisions.  The 16 member committee that was formed in the last meeting should continue (unless it has already been decided or a different decision has been taken in that meeting, as I could not attend for personal reasons) till March 2013.
