Hi guys,

So I've closed all the issues for the Upgrade 1 milestone (apart from the SSL issues which is a production deployment thing). You can see the issues that make up this release here: https://github.com/andypike/lagtv/issues?milestone=8&page=1&state=closed

I've deployed this version to the testing server here: http://lagtv.andypike.com

Could you guys test these changes first to make sure they are all ok. Then give the rest of the site a test to ensure that I haven't broken anything in the process ;o)

Let me know how you get on. If you find issues then please create an issue with [U1] in the title so I know it's related to this and not the live server.

Thanks in advance!!

Andy

Everything is looking good, Andy! I haven't tested all the suggestions/errors, but I'm able to see the changes already. I will let you know if I found anything else.

Hi Andy.

I was just testing the forums and I noticed something.
Once a community admin locks a thread, it is still possible for people
to edit and delete their posts.
The only thing that it locks is the ability to create a new post or
reply to a post.

Is this the desired functionality, because I fear that it may be abused.

I will have time to look at it tonight (If it still needs testing by then).

OK guys, I'd like to upgrade live with this new version tomorrow evening (UK time - about 22 hours from now). So could you give it a try and let me know if there are any new issues by then?

Also, for your reference, I've changed the releases to be by version number now. So this release is going to be v1.0.1 as it's mainly bug fixes. You can see the details of this in the GitHub issue milestone. I'll keep a changelog history in the readme of the project on GitHub for the main changes. The version of the site is now in the footer just in case you need to know what version you are using.

Cheers

Andy

Sounds good. Versioning makes it much easier to track, thanks.

Just tested most of the items there and are are working as they should. I did not test the "New Position for Devs/Contributers)", but the rest look good from what I can see.

Andy,

Everything looks great and good to go! I was able to access as the Dev Team with mods settings. No issues!

Hi all,

I've deployed 1.0.1 to live and seems to be working ok :o) Here is a summary of the changes in v1.0.1:

* Site wide SSL for increased security (redirects to https if on http). Note: forum pages containing external images (not on https) may display a browser warning.
* The "My Profile" link has been replaced with the logged in username and avatar.
* Forum signatures now part of the users profile and added to all posts by that user. Admins and CMs can hide a users signature if required.
* Homepage "Latest Forum Activity" list now excludes support category posts and displays the relative date of the post.
* Registration captcha now accepts answers in digits and words.
* Added new "Dev Team" role for those people actively developing and supporting the website.
* Images in the forums now have a max width and height so they do not go outside the bounds.
* BUG FIX: Users can now updated their own profile with receiving a permissions error.

You can see the full list with comments on the above here: https://github.com/andypike/lagtv/issues?milestone=8&page=1&state=closed

I've assigned some of you to the new Dev Team role - check it out. If I've missed you, please let me know. Stuka87, I went to change your role but you are already an Analysts so I didn't change your role as the Dev Team are the same as moderators and so not have access to replays.

Have fun!!

Andy

Hi guys,

Right on the heels of the 1.0.1 release, I now have the 1.0.2 release ready for testing! It's all on the testing server ready for you. Here are the details of what's new:

* Imposed a maximum height of 100px for signatures.
* Users can opt to hide all signatures in the forums if they prefer not to see them.

Can someone give this a test?

I can test this out, but it won't be til several hours later as I am in class at the moment and don't have my images on this computer.

One minor problem that seems to have come up in the last day or so.

A thread that I subscribed to was updated and I receved the email as
per normal
The problem is that the URL to the thread throws a "topic not found"

2 issues, I ran into when testing:

1. The italic/bold in signature was not resolve. I created an italic/bold signature in the "Moderator" account on the test site. It did not update or show the changes in the post. I tried different browsers but do not see it as well. Andy, you said it was fixed, but I do not see it on the test site.

2.Tall pictures throws off formatting

I know we are still working on it, but these are the only issues I ran into so far. Everything seemed good though...length of 150 px is good and I'm able to hide all the signatures through different accounts and not see them.

Yeah that fine. Would be cool to have both titles, and to show I am on the dev team, but I like being an Analyst as well :)

Andy,

Disregard Issue #1. Apparently, I had to delete and recreate my signature and everything was updated...weird.

Hi guys,

I've deployed 1.0.2 to the list site :o) Here are the high level changes:

* Imposed a maximum height of 150px for signatures.
* Users can opt to hide all signatures in the forums if they prefer not to see them.
* Fixed some signature layout issues.
* Changed the site font to improve readability and workaround a Chrome rendering bug on Windows 7.

Go take a look, thanks for all the testing help!

I've had some good feedback from Adam about the issues in GitHub in terms of priorities. I'll update you on this shortly.

Cheers

Andy

Hiding all signatures works.

Limiting the side of a signature image appears to work. It basically just cuts it off. The whole images loads, but only partially displays. May want to change it to that t checks the image size before allowing it to be used? I could easily put a 5MB image in there and make it load nice and slow for most people.

Formatting issues in the signature appear to be gone (At least the ones I noticed).
