Hi guys,

Just a quick one. I've upgraded the forum to the latest version and also merged some pull requests from the community to fix issues in 1.1.0. Open Source FTW!

Please see the "Closed" tab to see what is done and now on the testing server. The main thing is that the forum has been completely upgraded and we need to check everything about the forum is working as expected (at least no new bugs). So could you guys give it a good bashing? We need to be sure that this upgrade is good as we will have a lot of unhappy nerds if we mess up the forums when we push this version live ;o)

As this version has grown for various reasons I've de-scoped some of the other items to the following version (1.2.0). The scope for this version isn't fixed yet, just letting you where the issues have gone for now.

Thanks, let me know how it goes :o)

Ok...

Tested and verified the following. Thankfully most of these were very simple to replicate.

#49 - Passed Testing
#52 - Passed Testing
#114 - FAILED Testing
#131- Same issue as #52, Passed Testing
#144 - Passed Testing
#153 - Chrome Bug
#154 - Same issue as #52, Passed Testing
#162 - Passed Testing (And very happy about this feature)
#203 - Passed Testing
#207 - Passed Testing
#215 - Passed Testing

All looks good except for #114, which is still happening in the browsers that I tested. When I narrow the Window down, and then scroll to the right, the profile and logout buttons are gone.

Ah, yes. Sorry I reverted the change for #114 but didn't reopen the issue. Will do that now. Thanks for testing :o)

I was testing some of the issues yesterday, but didn't have time to let you know which ones were good or not.

However, tonight I was going to finish testing on my laptop and PC and report to you, but now I am unable to log in. It says the session is unavailable. Also, there was a SSL warning page that showed up. Was a scripting code attached that makes the testing site think it has a SSL?

I did get prompted for the security exception, so at least that part is working. I was already looged in. So I logged out, and then went to log back in. Now after I do, it sends me to this URL: http://lagtv.andypike.com/sessions

And then gives me a 404.

Well to be more exact, its not an actual 404, but its a 404 redirection:

The page you were looking for doesn't exist.

You may have mistyped the address or the page may have moved.

Hi guys,

I've completed all of the outstanding issue for the 1.1.0 release and have upgraded the testing server. Could you guys give it a bash? You can see the closed issues in github in the 1.1.0 milestone. Here are the highlights:

* Upgraded the forum to the latest version of the Forem engine.
* Multiple forum enhancements
* Added adverts to the site so it can start to pay for itself.
* Added site wide announcements
* Members can see what rating their replay has been given.
* Improved the replays list with more information for Analysts.
* Added Analysts stats to the list of users so.
* Changes SSL to only be enforced on the login, register and edit profile pages to reduce browser warnings.
* Multiple bug fixes.

Please let me know what you find. Please give the forum some good attention as the whole thing has been replaced with a new version of the Forem engine, so I want to make sure that everything is working including signatures and all other standard features.

Cheers

Andy

Thanks for keeping us updated, Andy! I saw that I on't have the login security issue and able to log in. I will look into it after I get off work tomorrow night or Friday. Any timeframe when it will be release on the live site?

No set timeframe but I'd like to release it over the weekend if possible. Depends how many bugs you guys find in my shoddy code ;o)

Following your format, this is what I tested:

* Upgraded the forum to the latest version of the Forem engine. (Passed on all browsers. Although, I think we can't really test it until it has been published to the live site. We have few threads/posts here, but able to see the changes.)
* Multiple forum enhancements (Passed.)
* Added adverts to the site so it can start to pay for itself. (Saw in Milestone 1.1.0 and waiting for Adverts to be on the live site.)
* Added site wide announcements (Passed on all browsers.)
* Members can see what rating their replay has been given. (Passed.)
* Improved the replays list with more information for Analysts.(Passed.)
* Added Analysts stats to the list of users so. (Passed, able to see the stats as Admins and CMs.)
* Changes SSL to only be enforced on the login, register and edit profile pages to reduce browser warnings. (Passed on all browsers.)
* Multiple bug fixes. (Passed, able to test on all browsers and no issues.)

Issue 114 is still a not resolving issue that we know of. Other than that, everything is good on my end! :D Thanks and keep up the good work, Andy and guys!

OK, thanks for all the testing guys. I've pushed this version live and it's looking good. Let me know if you see anything odd.

I'm going to hold on development for a couple of days in case there are some problems. Then we are start thinking about the next release. I'd like to make the next one a bit smaller as this one had 22 issues. Have a think about what you would like to see in the next release.

Cheers for all the help :o)

Andy

Andy,

The next small milestone is have is fine with me. It was great update with 1.1.0 because there were big changes that resolved many issues/suggestions, but nobody was able to recognize the changes except us, :D.

However, there are 2 things I could see as important to add to this update (either one of them is fine).

1. Issue 214: Moderators - Mark all as viewed. We need to have an option to check/uncheck each box rather than having all of them marked. It would make things a bit easier to know what we read through.

2. Issue 123: Analysts, Admins, and CMs have the option to edit replay comments. Adam mentioned and posted a video today of having new analysts. I see this is important because the option is not available to edit replay comment. If a new analyst mistakenly makes a wrong comment or rating, I'm sure they will post it in the forum.

Perhaps set a warning before they submit it? or allow 1 reedit per replay (I feel they may abuse the edit or remove their ratings? or an analyst could email an admin or cm to unlock/delete a replay for edit? I will leave it up to you, Adam, and the rest to decide how we want to go about this.

Hey dude, thanks for the feedback. I got some feedback from Adam too and have created a new milestone to cover the next release: https://github.com/andypike/lagtv/issues?milestone=12&page=1&state=open

I don't want it to be any bigger than this, so if more important things come up then we will need to move some issues out.

Please take a look and let me know if you disagree with anything :o)

I was able to see the changes and everything looks good to go! I have nothing more to add to the milestone since it focused on the important issues. The other ones can wait. Keep us posted if you have any new updates, questions, or assistance!

Sorry I have not been able to get any testing done this week. It's thanksgiving here in the states, so I have family over and such. But should be able to get back into the groove here after the weekend :)

It's all good, your testing earlier were great feedback. Also, the website was updated and there's been no issues so far.

Stuka,
I made an "Analysts FAQ" in the suggestions, could you take a look and let me know if there are anything I missed?
I might put some guidelines if needed.

Hi All

Sorry about the lack of testing on my part for the last few weeks.
My exams are now done, so it should be back to normal from me.

I will try and get some bug testing done over the next day or so.

Hey, Andy

I see the milestones are starting to grow, lol. I would recommend us working on the analysts portion this next update. If it's something minor that you can update/fix quick, then that's ok. But I would leave out issue 223, 214, 144, and 133 in the milestone. They aren't really a huge priority for us to look into. Also, we can work our way around it.

Yeah I think you are right. I might split 1.2 into 1.3 so the next release is smaller. Thanks.

Hey all,

As thongalong said, I think the 1.2 release was getting a bit large so I've split it to two so we can keep releases small. Here they are, comments welcome.

1.2: https://github.com/andypike/lagtv/issues?milestone=12&state=open
1.3: https://github.com/andypike/lagtv/issues?milestone=13&state=open

Cheers

I think adding a bit on when to suggest to reject a replay would be good.

Typically we want 3-4 reviews before we decide to suggest or reject a replay. With the exception being very long replays. If its a 35-40 minute replay, I highly doubt Adam and/or Jeff want to cast a replay that is that long.

If they are the first person reviewing, put some details in. How long the game is, stuff like that.

If you and some of the other more active analysts want to try and come up with a guide or something to be followed go ahead and do that then email it to me for review. I agree this needs to be done but I don't necessarily have the time to do it right now.
