Our grants

The next call for applications
will be launched on 4 February 2014. The grants programme is particularly
supportive of proposals that mainstream the Foundation's cross-cutting outcome areas in their project design: Gender equality Environmental

Thrasher Research Fund for Young Researchers
The Fund
recognizes that young investigators may find it difficult to remain in pediatric research because of a lack of funding. Therefore, the purpose of this
program is to encourage the development of medical research in child health by awarding small grants to new researchers, helping them gain a foothold
in this important area. The Fund accepts the 2014 concept submissions until March 7, 2014
United
States Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation; 2014 Call for Proposals
In 2001,
the Congress of the United States of America established the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) as a tool through which the
people of the United States could help less developed countries to preserve their cultural heritage. The American Embassy is now accepting
proposals for the 2014 Ambassador’s Fund. Successful proposals identify one-time of recurring projects that assist the people of Uganda in
preserving their cultural heritage. Grants typically range from US$15,000-$150,000. Proposals may include preservation projects directed
at: Cultural Sites, Cultural Objects and Collections, Forms of Traditional Cultural Expression;

Funding to address
Health Care system disparities
Every day, healthcare organizations and others are
faced with the challenge of how to eliminate
disparities in health and health care. In this PCORI Funding Announcement (PFA), we seek studies
that will inform the choice of strategies to eliminate disparities. We are not interested in studies that describe disparities; instead, we want
studies that will identify best options for
eliminating disparities. Direct project costs are limited to a maximum of $500,000 per year, and
project period is limited to three years.

Global Health Corps applications for the yearlong paid-for fellowship 2014-2015 in Eastern Africa, Southern
Africa and the US
Global Health Corps has just
opened applications for the 2014-2015 fellowship class. We are seeking passionate young people with diverse skill sets and interests to participate in
our yearlong paid fellowship program to work with small and large NGOs and Ministries of
Health, and Global Health.. Fellows work in outstanding healthcare organizations. Applications
close January 26th, 2014.
Global Fund for Women Grant Opportunity is now open
The Global Fund for Women
provides funding for women’s groups to advance the human rights of women and girls around the world. It gives grants ranging from $500 to
$30,000 for operating and program expenses. The Global Fund for Women supports Groups of women working together. The current grant cycle is open from
September 15 onwards and closes on December 15.

for Children Call for Letters on Inquiry
Organizations all over the world directly working
with children and youths are invited to submit a preliminary letter of inquiry. This may be submitted at any time during the year. The Global Fund for
Children selects grantee partners based on their demonstrated potential to produce sustainable improvement in the lives of vulnerable children and
youth and to serve as a resource or model for other organizations. With rare exceptions, a prospective grantee partner annual budget should not exceed
$200,000.

Stars Foundation Grants Open for Health, Education, Protection and WASH
The Stars Foundation in the
UK has announced the opening of its annual funding for NGOs around the world. The 2014 Stars Impact Awards is an opportunity to for “outstanding
organizations working to improve the lives of disadvantaged children in countries with the highest rates of under-five mortality.” The Stars
Impact Awards consists of $100,000 unrestricted funding along with a a bespoke package of consultancy, PR support, and media training for the
grant-winning NGOs. Applicants will be notified of the final outcome of the Impact Awards process by October 2014.
The MATCH International announces Women’s Fund: Call for
Proposals 2013
The MATCH International has announced the 2013 Call for Proposals for its International Women’s Fund. This Fund is the
first international fund from Canada focusing on social innovation around the world. MATCH bridges feminist grassroots human rights movements and the
world of social innovation.
UNGEI’s Good Practice Fund for
Girls’ Education and Gender Equality
The United Nations Girls’ Education Initiative (UNGEI) has announced a call for proposals for the Fund for Documentation of
Good Practice in Girls’ Education and Gender Equality. The Fund seeks to provide an opportunity for good practices to be systematically
documented and shared within and between countries and regions, especially those which are “lesser known” among development practitioners;
demonstrate the diverse ways that organizations/actors are addressing girls’ education and gender equality; and enhance our understanding of

this period, in either English or French, will be accepted.
Thiel Fellowship for Young People to develop and implement life-changing projects in diverse
sectors
The Thiel Fellowship Council
hopes that you’ll apply to the Thiel Fellowship. We love learning about how people want to change the world and how applicants would take the
next two years to pursue their projects and dreams. Though we only have 20 spots per year for fellowships, we’re helping hundreds of applicants
to change the world by connecting them to resources like mentoring, internships, and inviting them to participate in our Under 20 Community.
Applicants must be 19 or younger by December 31st of the current year to qualify. We will select the finalists in the spring and expect to announce
the new class in May.

The United Nations Democracy Fund invites civil society organizations to apply for funding for
projects to advance and support democracy during the annual proposal window, which is open only from 15 November to 31 December. Only on-line proposals
during this period, in either English or French, will be accepted. UNDEF projects are two years long, project grants ranging from $100,000 to $400,000, and fall under one or more of six main
areas: Community development, Rule of law and human rights, Tools for democratization, Media, Women, Youth
The UN-HABITAT Youth Fund – for poverty reduction
This fund promotes the
poverty reduction aims of Millennium Development Goals and the
Habitat Agenda for better, more sustainable and equitable towns and
cities throughout the developing world. It provides grants of up to $25,000 for new ideas and solutions for job creation, good governance, adequate
shelter and secure tenure. By undertaking research on best practices in youth-led development the fund will also create a greater awareness of the
urgency to ensure that youth concerns are integrated into national and local development policies and strategies. Applicants organizations must be led
by young people aged 15-32 years and be based in cities or towns in developing countries to qualify for a grant.

All requests for community
support in the form of grants or sponsorships for consideration by The Coca-Cola Company, The Coca-Cola Foundation or any of its affiliated regional
foundations must be submitted through our online application system. Those proposals meeting specific guidelines, and further our strategic goals and
objectives, will be considered for funding. Applications that are faxed or mailed will be returned to the organization with an invitation to apply
through the online application. Each year, we are focused on those initiatives that align with our overall community investment priorities.

The GEF Small Grants Programme for CBOs and NGOs
SGP grants are made directly to community-based organizations (CBOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in
recognition of the key role they play as a resource and constituency for environment and development concerns. The maximum grant amount per project is
US$50,000, but averages around US$25,000.
First Call for Proposals of Africa Trade Fund African-based national and regional organizations and
associations involved in trade development such as African government agencies, regional economic communities and private sector and civil society
organizations located in Africa
The African Development Bank
Group (AfDB) is pleased to announce the first call for proposals of the Africa Trade Fund (AfTra). Award amounts shall range from
50,000 USD to 1,000,000 USD per project.
Bank organizational units
(sector and regional departments, field offices) are also invited to apply. All applicants are invited to submit their proposals online by 20
November 2013.
International
Communities Lottery Funding
The International Communities funding aims to
support projects that tackle the causes of poverty and bring about a long-term difference to the lives of some of the most disadvantaged people in the
world. It is open to any UK non-governmental organisations or voluntary organisations working with independent organisations in countries in Africa,
Asia, South or Central America, Caribbean, Eastern Europe and the Balkans (but not EU countries). Interested organisations can make an application to
the programme at any time until 31 March 2014.
