Calipio is a real gem not only amongst the free online screen recorders. It gives everything the regular user might want, asks nothing which you are reluctant to give and costs not more than exhaling a deep breath:
VEED is another popular screen recorder and editor. The tool is geared toward simplifying the video creation process. In other words, it lets you record both your screen and webcam to create engaging video content.
Loom installs as a normal app but you can also choose to see it as a menu bar app. I only had 22 menu bar apps showing (another 12 hidden on the second Bartender menu) so of course, I installed loom in my menu bar!
Loom helped solve this pain point in a huge way. With Loom, a team member could record themselves going through something and asking for feedback on specific points. Other team members can leave timestamped comments to provide input, and the original recorder can click on the timestamp to see what a comment is referring to.
Since we also work with teams that are based in different continents, Loom reduced the number of late night or early morning calls that we had to take. If we wanted to do a demo call, we now had the option to do so asynchronously thanks to Loom. The best part is, only the recorder needs to have the Loom app. All other collaborators can simply view the video and comment on the browser of their choice via a shareable link you send them.
