Some neat maps at lafayettela.gov

I had not noticed this before, but there are some neat maps at
http://www.lafayettela.gov. The crime map is especially interesting.
While a bit frustrating to use, it provided some neat info about a
rash of petty crimes we've had in our neighborhood recently.

Also pretty neat is an email alert system that will tell you about your chosen class of crime/s around a point of your choosing in a radius of up to one mile. You can get to it by clicking the "cyberwatch" tab at:

I asked him if it was impossible or just not available yet. He said,

"Based on the information I received from our programmer this add on
is not currently available with this application as configured for our
environment."
