I love offering purees on a preloaded spoon. To do this, the parent, puts some of the food on the spoon and hands it to baby. Then baby can bring the food to their mouth all by themselves. This gives you some of the same advantages of baby led weaning, but can be more comfortable for many parents.

"I felt that the Wean in 15 book is quite complex. The recipes take quite a long time to prep and make which made it difficult to use if baby was awake and wanting my attention. This would then have me cooking different meals for different people in the house. It has many ingredients that can be quite costly. It also uses little bits of this and that and can create a lot of wastage. I didn't like the introduction at the beginning and thought that the breastfeeding comments could cause upset to some mums. Not something you expect from a weaning book. I did like when it specified if you can freeze, as batch cooking is always a bonus"

I wouldn't recommend this book to other mums. It's recipes can be very overwhelming and long winded. The ingredients don't seem realistic to me and caused me a fair bit of wastage when I was cooking. It's broken down into age sections which is great but it hasn't got many family meals in it, meaning it is pretty much just for baby. The introduction isn't great, but the information on his personal experience of a nut allergy is brilliant. I did like the clear key telling you if you can freeze, if it's gluten free etc. But for me, this isn't a good book for parents looking for an easy weaning book to follow and help guide them.
