Over the past 20 years, photography has become an integral part of smartphone technology. And thanks to the ubiquity of top-of-the-line Android phones and their cameras, photo-sharing sites are some of the most popular on the internet. But sometimes you want to take a photo that's larger than the typical 3:2 ratio (sometimes you need a Samsung S23 Ultra with 200MP). Sometimes the subject of your photo demands that you break the bonds of tradition and overthrow the tyranny of a fixed aspect ratio. Sometimes you need a panorama.
Even though the term panorama (which means "all viewing") didn't come about until the 18th century, the technique has been around since at least the Roman Empire. The word "panorama" was coined to describe a type of art exhibition where a painting was displayed on the inside of a cylinder which viewers could enter to view a scene from 360 degrees.
The most important thing is to be patient. Getting a good shot means taking more than one photo and not rushing the photos you take. Smartphones make panoramas by stitching together multiple shots. If you move too quickly, those photos will be blurry, ruining your panorama. Rushing your shot also means there's a greater chance of your photos being out of alignment. If some shots are level and others are tilted, that affects the final product.
Think about how much movement there is in your photo. Suppose you're taking a picture of a road. In that case, the individual photos in your panorama might only capture half of a moving car, leaving an unsightly artifact in your photo. Likewise, moving animals and people could create strange artifacts or appear in your shot more than once.
It's also critical to plan ahead. Unless you're taking a 360-degree panorama, you don't want to start your shot on the focus of your picture. Find a start and end point for the photo you want, with the focus of the shot equidistant between those two points. Don't be frustrated if you don't get it right on the first try.
If your phone has an HDR mode, go ahead and enable it. When you're stitching together a bunch of photos, there will be a greater variation in the light. Without HDR, your darks will be too dark, and your lights will be washed out. In the same vein, lock your exposure if you can. Phones are superb at stitching together photos, but they can't hide drastic changes in brightness. Point your phone at the subject of your panorama, let the phone set its exposure, then lock it in, ensuring that the focus of your shot looks the best in the final image.
Panorama 360 uses a box guide and strip preview similar to the Pixel 4a, and its AR guides are similar to those on Open Camera. One of the best features of this app is the ability to discard and retake the last photo you took. If your previous shot was ugly or cut off a moving object at the edge of the frame, press the undo button in the lower-right corner to retake the last photo. One drawback of Panorama 360 is you can't take vertical panoramas.
There's no secret formula for taking the perfect panorama. It's a mix of art, science, and arcane magic. If your camera doesn't support panoramic photos, or your shots look a little rough, it may be time for an upgrade. I have two problems to do this and hope u to save:1. I take a panorama from my phone and When i connect it to PC from copying my panorama, this one become a simple jpeg image. I don't know how and why!!!2. I have no idea on how to view panorama on android. I search on google, on android forums and still at my beginning point, i have to present my application next week!!!
Motion Panorama lets you take videos in the Panorama format. Still panorama shots are reconstructed from the clearest frames of the motion version. To see the full breadth of the video or images, you can swipe the screen or pan your phone sideways.
I'm looking for a camera app on Android which should have a decent, easy to use panorama mode. My current main driver is Open Camera, but I never managed to create a panorama photo with it. The camera that shipped with my BQ Aquaris (BQ Camera) does this excellently and easy (press the knob, then just move the device slowly, press again when done), but is not open source and further wasn't updated for quite a while (since 6/2019). To sum up:
I have a 360 panoramic photo, 184329216 px in size, stitched with ICE. I have uploaded the panorama to Photosynth, so that it can be viewed and navigated conveniently. However, Photosynth requires the Silverlight plugin, which some don't have installed. As an alternative, I would like to convert the panorama into a custom Google Streetview panorama.
I found the tutorial How to upload non-android 360 panoramas to Google Maps and successfully uploaded a spherical panorama into Google+. I haven't took the step to publish it on Google Maps, but I guess for private sharing, G+ is better.
A big part of the fun that is Android photography is being able to more than your typical point-and-shoot camera. It's a camera lens strapped to a computer, after all. And one of the easiest (and coolest) shots to shot is a panorama.
You often hear us say never shoot video when you're holding your phone vertically. But for panorama shots, we're going to recommend it. And it makes sense. You're already going to get a wide shot, so the extra depth you get from a vertical image will make a big difference. It's also makes it a lot easier to hold your phone when you're moving.
It's a big world out there. You're not limited to the apps that come with your camera. And a quick search of Google Play turns up a slew of other panorama apps, a good many of them free. We also recommend trying out Google's camera app as well, as it comes with Photo Sphere shooting built into it.
Finally, think about what you plan on doing with your panorama shot. Google+ is great for them. Panoramas make great wallpapers. Or you can use one of the infinite (OK, it probably just seems like it) printing services to have something bigger worked up. Facebook is OK, of course (though it still basically murders any picture it gets its hands on. Flickr is reliable and excellent as well.

Combine multiple photos to create panoramas that capture the whole scene. Arsenal 2's Panorama feature shows you a real-time preview of your panorama as you shoot. When you're done, just crop the photo and it's ready to share.
While panorama stitching software has come a long way, it relies on finding matching details between photos to align images into the final photo. If you have objects close to the lens, be sure to increase your aperture so as much of the scene is in focus as possible. When focusing, I recommend choosing a focal point a third to halfway between the foreground and background. While you can change your focus part-way through a panorama, most of the time you want to find a single focus point that captures everything.
Panoramas can be a powerful tool and not just for high-megapixel prints. I find there are a lot of situations where a 3 or 4 shot panorama lets me get that extra width I need and lets me leave the ultrawide lens at home.
Please note: we recommend checking your saving options prior to shooting to ensure your panorama photos are saved to the onboard Micro SD card slot and/or your phone. By default, the panorama photos that Arsenal 2 creates are saved to the device in temp storage until you adjust your preferences in the settings menu.
Each Street View panorama is an image, or set of images, that provides a full360-degree view from a single location. Images conform to the equirectangular(Plate Carrée) projection, which contains 360 degrees of horizontal view(a full wrap-around) and 180 degrees of vertical view (from straight up tostraight down). The resulting 360-degree panorama defines a projection on asphere with the image wrapped to the two-dimensional surface of that sphere.
