Hello SPMs and KM,
There is an opportunity to showcase our FP advocates in the states and create stories about them through a new grant with The Moth. The platform will host two workshops focused on exploring personal stories related to Global Health Innovation. These workshops will be held in Nairobi, with one at the end of August and one at the beginning of September.
Please share this information with counterparts in both graduated and active states, as well as non-state structures.
Thank you.

Subject: Inviting Partners to Apply for the Moth Storytelling Workshops
Hi all,
I’m writing to let you know about an exciting opportunity to elevate up-and-coming advocates and storytellers through a new grant with The Moth. They’ll host two workshops focused on exploring personal stories related to Global Health Innovation. These workshops will be held in Nairobi, with one at the end of August and one in the beginning of September.
The workshops are 2.5 days in length and explore the art of storytelling and how personal stories can be used as tools for advocacy, change, and champion building.
The workshops are open to people who can speak to the impact health innovation has had on their life—either from the perspective of a beneficiary or as a researcher/developer. This could be a story about a new vaccine or diagnostic tool or digital resource that changed the way a person or their family received care, the experience of a researcher who developed a breakthrough—or experienced success after failure. It could be someone who witnessed the way a new health innovation transformed their community or led to new opportunities. These stories don’t need to be about any singular technology or disease, but they should be broadly focused on global health, focusing on issues like infectious diseases, maternal and child health, etc.
The application portal is open until June 24, 2024.
I am hoping you can pass the application link along to anyone you think would be interested in applying: https://airtable.com/appZu843eHQ5cf7NP/shrinLQy53FSXV3p0. All costs of the workshop—including travel, lodging, and meals—will be paid for and arranged by The Moth. We are hoping to get participants from various backgrounds and geographies, so please do share widely with your networks!
If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to Jody Doo on The Moth's Global team at jd...@themoth.org.
Kind regards,
