Hey everyone,

I'm confirming that we have reserved our normal meeting room at the People's Food Co-op for Thursday, June 20th.

Call for presentations!

Do you have something that you'd like to share about? Is there anything that you'd like to see a presentation on? Just reply to this and let us know.

I will be out of the State next week, in sunny San Diego, CA at the
annual conference of the National Association of Community Broadcasters.
Have a great meetup!

I will be at the meeting next week and have been working in a three of areas that may prove good topics if there is an interest.

1. Backup alternatives.  I came upon Restic, but with a twist: will backend it with an S3 compatible object store - Minio
2. Dual booting problems with Windows 10 & Ubuntu 10.04 from within a Uefi environment.
3. Big Data Kafka & DataLake(note the object store in 1.) infrastructure

Hi John,

I'm interested in Restic backup and knowing more about the Minio storage.

Both pretty powerful technologies that I am just now getting familiar with.   I can give a presentation on them both and follow it with discussion focused on backup best practices (something I am still grappling and am sure there are more people in the group that are more enlightened) that also leverage Amazon S3.  Note that Minio has query capabilities, which is also utilized by debundled query engines within Big Data - Data Lakes - I can touch on that as well.
