The PGK Project's Summer Intensive is a 2 week Monday to Friday (930am to 4pm) program targeting Advanced to Intermediate Level Dancers, Choreographers, Teachers directed by Founding Director Peter Kalivas with 'PGK' Artists and Faculty.

Each morning alternates between Contemporary/Modern Technique and Ballet, followed by learning works in the repertory of our resident professional company.  This is then followed by Composition where all can choose whether to choreograph or dance in a work being created by a student choreographer.  Although a goal could be to create something to be included in the final performance the focus remains on the process vs. product during the intensive.

HISTORY
Founding Artistic Director, The PGK Project Peter Kalivas has been in the field for 30 years.  As a dancer he toured and originated roles at The Joyce Theater and Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, theaters and festival across the US and abroad as an original member of Sean Curran Company/NYC.  He was also a member of Ailey II, The Jamison Project, The Iwanson Dance Company/Germany, Malashock Dance and The San Diego Ballet among others.  In addition to his company has work has been commisioned by both contemporary/modern and ballet companies across the US, Europe, Australia, Asia, Central Asia, Central and South America.  His choreographic style is bold and technically athletic with 'beautifully sculpted design' (LA TIMES), 'his work is dynamically riveting, directing a striking effect' (DANCE MAGAZINE).

Weekly he and his company offer open to the public Company Class Wednesdays and Fridays 10am to 1130am,
$15 Drop In at Culture Shock Dance Center where his professional company and 2nd company are in residence.
