Subject: Position for college student
Jayesh,
My name is Jahl Caldwell and I am the digital program manager at Superior
Document Services. We are a litigation support company with offices in
Downtown and Century City. We have a position open that we are having a
hard time filling. We are looking for someone who has broad based computer
skills, good problem solving ability and is detail oriented. By broad based
computer skills I am referring to someone who knows how to manipulate text
files (search and replace, understands delimiters and can manipulate from
one delimiting scheme to another), understands what fields and records are
in a database, can use Excel to the point of being able to use basic
text/login functions (and, or, concatenate, left, right functions) knows
what an FTP site is and how to transfer data back and forth to one. If
someone had these basic skills then then they would be able to learn the
software packages we use quickly.
We are having a lot of difficulty finding good candidates and it occurred to
me that when I was in college as an engineering student, I would have liked
a job like this. I am now reaching out to local professors at the community
colleges since you all have the best exposure to technical talent. The
position starts at $15/hr and while I prefer to find someone part time,
someone who can work evenings would work also. If you know anyone who might
be interested please forward them my contact information.
Regards,
Jahl Caldwell
