to Labyrinthitis
hi guys, i've been diagnosed with labyrinthitis and i find it so
difficult to explain this for those who have never experienced this
kind of illness.
now i know im not the only one who is struggling with this /thanx to
the internet:-)
it's started with the migraine about 7 weeks ago,i felt dizzy and
sick ,involuntary movements of my eye ,verry tired and i coudn't eat.
there was a weird pressure in my head .i got headaches and the mild
headache was still there all the time.i was vomitting .i was depressed
and i though im gonna die because of my racing heart.i also felt
fullnes in my right ear. so i went to my GP,she said it must be an
infection -not a big deal. the symptoms were gone after few days and
i've returned back to normal life(work-full time,gym,goin'
out, playing soccer) only sometimes i noticed the dizziness when i was
trying to focus my eyes on an object e.g. someones's face.
then after 2 weeks it came to me again and the symptoms were worse. i
had the vertigo .now i can feel some slow recovery but i still have
that weird feeling of a surreal world. i feel much better than a week
ago.
will this come back again??? or is it gone forever. i just hope it
is :-) How can u know that there is a pernament damage of some part of
my inner ear??
i'd be glad if anyone can give some usefull information or can tell
me his experiences with this bloody infection:-)
sorry about my english ,i'm slovakian :-))

If you can see someone who specializes in ears (in the US it's an ear,
nose, and throat doctor) do so. They will be able to run tests that
will tell you if you have permanent damage and will hopefully also get
you in contact with someone for vestibular rehab.

What I've learned online is that everyone's experience is different
and it's hard to say if it will come back again. Your symptoms
sounded a lot like mine and 3 years later I still have some symptoms.
But it becomes manageable with the right help.

Good luck.

Hi My Friend

I have had Labrythitis so bad, that I had Labrythectomy both ears, big operations....No it shouldnt do any damage to ears, but should you at anytime have to have Labrythectomy you will lose hearing the ear they perform operation on...

Im afraid It can come back, but normally a few years apart, again its acts different per person.... I had those operations and my balance isnt very good :-( but we are all different..

When I had mine I was in Bed and couldnt lift my head of the pillow and also even eyes closed everything was spinning,I was constantly being sick every 15 minutes .And HEADACHES oh my god say no more..... I thought I was A gonner, pheew
..
Good Luck
