Hi,

I have finally got my LPC-LINK2.

I cannot get it working on my WIN7 64 Bit Machine. It works on a colleagues XP 32 bit machine.

I have the device attached and it has installed the LpcDevice, which shows up in the device manager.

I can run the "\LPC_Link2_Config_tool_v1_11_1" on my machine and that seems to work normally.

The LabTool Device shows up red in the Toolbar and when I hit start it says "The device is not available"

I can see no troubleshooting guide in the manual to resolve this issue.

Simon

Thanks for your reply.

I have it working now but I am not sure why it did not work from the start.

On the XP 32 bit machine you simply plug it in and start Labtool and it works.

On my machine I had to:
1) Plug in the Unit.
2) Get the firmware from http://www.embeddedartists.com/products/app/labtool.php?utm_source=Embedded+Artists+Newsletter&utm_campaign=be19755e34-November_2013&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_8554a8a46d-be19755e34-4870617.
3) Push the firmware in using instructions from here http://www.lpcware.com/content/project/dfu-download-programming-utility-and-security-lpcdfusec-tool/dfusec-download-support
4) Then Windows 7 does an extra stage of enumeration to load the Labtool driver
5) Start Labtool, now it works yippee!

I hope this helps others.

Why the extra stages on Windows 7 compared to Windows XP however ????

All the best and thanks again for the helpful post.

I have got the software from Github on my home Windows 7 64 Bit machine and am having exactly the same problem as I had on my work machine with the Labtool staying red and not connecting correctly.

I ran the released version and it then worked in that.

When I went back to the version built on my machine, it still worked.

Looks like it is not reliable starting on both my Windows 7 64 Bit machines.

The RED led on the LPC-Link 2 stays lit when it fails and goes out when it works correctly.

All the best.
