Hi,

I am looking to add specific DALI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Addressable_Lighting_Interface) functionality to the LabTool software.

I have made some good progress and will be sharing my efforts soon.

I have set up a separate Goggle Group to discuss this work here :

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/labtool-dali

I also intend to add functionality that will be useful outside the field of lighting and I will use this group to discuss and announce that work.

All the best from the (very wet) Garden of England.

Simon.

If anybody wants to try my changes to add DALI support then they are on GitHub here: https://github.com/fordp2002/labtool/tree/fordp

It only really works in the simulator mode at the moment but changes to get it working for real should be pretty small.

Still lots to do as this is just a proof of concept and the encoding and decoding are both crude and will need improving in the future.

The first step is always the hardest ..

My latest version should work to decode DALI for real now. There is a bug with the x10 probe feature but that just means you have to reselect the range after you change the x10. I will get it fixed at some point.

I will generate a pull request when it is better tested.

Simon.
