Hello everyone,

Relatively new user to labscript, so apologies in advance for any misunderstandings!

We have a few PrawnBlasters around the laboratory, and I am interested in using them as TTL-output type device (a la a pulseblaster) instead of as pseudoclocks which appears to be the the intended purpose looking at the provided labscript device code.

Has anyone attempted this already?

Thanks,
Ryan McGill

Hi Ryan,

We have the PrawnDO that should suit your purposes. It uses the same raspberry pi pico board, just with different firmware flashed onto it. See https://github.com/labscript-suite/prawn_digital_output and https://docs.labscriptsuite.org/projects/labscript-devices/en/latest/devices/prawndo/

The only caveat would be if your PrawnBlasters are using some sort of breakout PCB board attached - you'll need a different breakout board design for the PrawnDO (of which people already have designs shared). If you are just running the stock standard board though, then you can interchange the firmware and wire up as per the docs.

Hope that helps!

Cheers,
Phil
