Hi all,

We are trying to integrate our Andor iXon camera to LabScript using SDK2. After looking at this documentation, it looks like there is already a device built for this application, but it says using SDK3.

As far as we know, Andor EMCCD cameras need SDK2, and sCMOS need SDK3, so we are confused. Can anyone clarify this point, and suggest what is the most straightforward way for iXon camera integration?

Best,
Minho

Hi Minho,

Not sure why the documentation says SDK3. I - in RbChip - had the labscript Andor iXon device code written using SDK2. I extensively developed then tested the Andor device for both KS and FK acquisition modes using SDK2. Short answer: you are good to go with SDK2 Andor dll. However, the latest version of the andor device code on github does not work for all acquisition modes (this has been a known issue). Depending on the acquisition configuration requirements you have, you may need to revert to a previous commit (pre December 2019) for the Andor device.

Best,
Emine

Hi,

I confirm you'll only need the DLL that comes with SDK2 or Solis program.

Cheers,

Ivan
