12 LITTLE THINGS CONTEST

The words of United States President John F. Kennedy during his inauguration speech still resonate in the minds of Americans and many people from other countries around the world, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”.

“Pinoy” Alex Lacson responded by writing his best selling book “12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do To Help Our Country”. These are small acts carried out with great faith. Inspired by this book, the Alpha Phi Beta Chancery NA -East Coast, Inc., is sponsoring a nationwide contest open to all high school and college students in the Philippines.

CONTEST RULES:

Each participant will write his own list of 12 ideas or “little things every Filipino can do to help our country”.

None of the ideas can be in the list already included in Alex Lacson’s original book.

Each idea should be supported by a minimum of 150 words and not more than 500. Each entry will be judged for originality, practicality, and relevance.

Each entry should be submitted as an attachment to an email addressed to 12littleth...@gmail.com, either in Microsoft Word or PDF format only.

The body of the email should contain the following information:

-Name of contestant

-Postal address (street, town/city, province, postal code)

-Name and address of school

-Contact phone number (either landline or mobile phone)

Entries submitted any other way would be disqualified.

Deadline: Entries must be received by 12 midnight, Manila time, on April 25, 2010.

PRIZES:

-1st Prize: Philippine Pesos (PHP) 25,000

-2nd Prize: Philippine Pesos (PHP) 15,000

-3rd Prize: Philippine Pesos (PHP) 10,000

Each winner will receive a Certificate of Achievement and a copy of the original book, 12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do for Our Country, signed by author Alex Lacson.
