I have Driver San Francisco installed via Lutris with Lutris-GE-Proton-8-7-x86_64, DXVK 2.2 and D3D Extras v2. The game plays fine and Pre-rendered cutscenes play properly but the in-engine, real-time cutscenes play with sound but a black screen.
"This is a fun tour for all ages. We got to see so many parts of San Francisco where many familiar shows and movies were filmed. We loved seeing the video clips and immediately seeing the actual sight where a scene was filmed. Our guide and driver were excellent, and let us get out and take pictures of our favorite scenes. Definitely recommend!"
What you might not have noticed is all the other things the scene got wrong, specifically about the actual mechanics of a typical city bus, not to mention the way bus drivers are actually expected to act during an emergency.
McQueen, at the time a world-class race-car driver, drove in the close-up scenes, while stunt coordinator Carey Loftin, stuntman and motorcycle racer Bud Ekins, and McQueen's usual stunt driver, Loren Janes, drove for the high-speed parts of the chase and performed other dangerous stunts.[34] Ekins, who doubled for McQueen in The Great Escape sequence where McQueen's character jumps over a barbed-wire fence on a motorcycle, performs a lowsider crash stunt in front of a skidding truck during the Bullitt chase. The Mustang's interior rearview mirror goes up and down depending on who is driving: when the mirror is up, McQueen is visible behind the wheel, when it is down, a stunt man is driving.
The black Dodge Charger was driven by veteran stunt driver Bill Hickman, who played one of the hitmen and helped with the chase scene choreography. The other hitman was played by Paul Genge, who played a character who had ridden a Dodge off the road to his death in an episode of Perry Mason ("The Case of the Sausalito Sunrise") two years earlier. In a magazine article many years later, one of the drivers involved in the chase sequence remarked that the Charger - with a larger engine (big-block 440 cu. in. versus the 390 cu. in.) and greater horsepower (375 versus 325) - was so much faster than the Mustang that the drivers had to keep backing off the accelerator to prevent the Charger from pulling away from the Mustang.[33]
Henry Fonda plays 60-year-old truck driver Elegant John, who gets his rig repossessed by the finance company while in the hospital being treated for a terminal illness. He escapes from the hospital and steals back his truck in an effort to make one last perfect cross-country run. Pursued by the police, Elegant John becomes a folk hero after he picks up six prostitutes along the way as a favor to his friend, madam Penelope, played by Eileen Brennan. This movie also stars Susan Sarandon.

The cutscenes RENDER37.str and RENDER64.str are not used in the game. RENDER64.str was supposed to be used for the end of The Briefcase and RENDER37.str is an informational cutscene in The Mercy Mission which the game skips over. These are localized in the Japanese release.
"The Mercy Mission" is composed of three segments. But there's actually a fourth segment and cutscene that are missing. This is somewhat obvious if one looks at the cutscene after the third segment, where the location in the cutscene is noticeably different. The skipped cutscene and the fourth segment actually exist and can be played. This works best if you complete the third segment of said mission normally, as the game saves your position after the mission. Enabling the code in other missions can cause out-of-bounds glitches.
The first Driver game launched for the PlayStation in June 1999 and saw players burn up the streets of Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York as cop-turned-getaway driver John Tanner. It was followed by two direct sequels, plus Driver: Parallel Lines, retro Driver 76, 2011 console game Driver: San Francisco, Driver: Renegade 3D for the 3DS and Driver Speedboat Paradise for iOS and Android.
The Heckler & Koch MP5A5 appears as a more powerful submachine gun in game, as well as in cutscenes. The telescoping stock has been removed, and it has a 15-round magazine. Also, despite having the Navy trigger pack markings, it does not feature the ambidextrous safety lever. Jones is also seen with this gun with the stock in place. The in-game model also features the stock and a 15 or 20-round magazine, but is given a capacity of 30 rounds.
The M16A4 appears as the assault rifle in game as well as in cutscenes and FMVs. Unlike the actual A4 model, the in-game version fires full auto. Also, the weapon is given a capacity of 60 rounds, even though it is only modelled with a 30-round magazine. The in-game model would be used in the beta version of Driver: Parallel Lines.
