Missing Merge Fields?

This happened to me last week as well, but when I went to "create labels" and then choose the merge fields, none were showing. I was able to get it working about 15 minutes later. I'm having the same problem again this week. No merge fields are showing in the drop down menu.

Hello Naomi,

Thank you for sharing your situation with us.

The merge fields are drawn from the first line of your spreadsheet document. If the row #1 does not contain text, then Labelmaker might have troubles suggesting merge fields to include. Can you check that the first line is not empty in your document?

If that doesn't help, could you share a screenshot with us so that we can better understand your situation?

I have the same problem. Please see below. When I click on Select a sheet or Select a merge field ..nothing shows up.

Thank you for letting us know about this issue.

Can you try refreshing the page, quit your browser and re-try?
What happens if you use another browser, does it solve the issue?

In the meantime, I can suggest you to use the Google Docs version of Labelmaker, that you can access from the Add-ons menu, go to: https://docs.new to open a new G Docs

I am having this same problem! I just purchased the yearly plan - and the merge fields are blank. I sign off/on, restarted, etc. Still blank. Any ideas?

Dear Cari,

Thanks a lot for sharing your spreadsheet with me. I did a copy to avoid modifying your own spreadsheet.

The issue come from your header row: we can only detect merge fields if there is one header row.

n your example, it works well if I deleted the first 2 rows and I only kept:

"Teacher Color YXS YS YM YL YXL A-S A-M A-L A-XL A-XXL A-XXXL Amount Paid" (see screenshot below)

Me too. I can't seem to capture a screenshot with the "select a merge field" dropdown open, but it's grayed out. I shared this document with Lucy.

Lucy found the problem - I was logged into multiple Google accounts at once. When I logged out of all but the one which I had gotten the add-on for, the merge fields started working properly.

Ran into this issue. I was able to figure it out. Ensure your document is a Google sheets document, not a CSV or XLS file. Convert your document to google sheets first. And then select that file from your google docs/drive in the Labelmaker extension. SYou should now be able to select your sheet and merge fields.

same thing for me. I really do not understand why it stops working with the exact type of file !!!!

when clicking on add merge field nothing is inside and it has generated the fields when opening the csv file and when pressing create labels, it does not charge the labels, just the filed titles !!!

I am going to look for another solution
