Please help me! ORA-12154 error.

Hi.

I have used Lab128 trial version a few days ago.

Before 2 days ago, - I don't have upgrade to 1.7 - ORA-12154 does not appear.

but after upgrade to 1.7, ORA-12154 error detected.

sqlplus and other application work fine except Lab128.

I had already installed the Oracle Instant Client 11.2.0.1. on Windows 7 Enterprise environment.

please advise to me how can I solve this error.

Hi InHee Lee,

Please give more details:
- Are you using tnsnames.ora file or "direct addressing"?
- If you use "direct addressing" do you see ping and TNS ping going successfully?
- If you use tnsnames.ora, can you try "direct addressing" and see if you can connect this way?
- Are there non-English letters in the name of host or service?

There is one difference in version 1.7 which can affect connection. Once Lab128 starts, it sets NLS_LANG environment variable:
NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8

This can be disabled by starting Lab128 with "-nls=unset" parameter like that:
lab128.exe -nls=unset
You can try that too and please let us know if that makes a difference.

   : I have been try tnsnames.ora file & "direct addressing".

     in case of "tnsnames.ora", ORA-12154 was return.

     in case of "direct addressing", ORA-12731 was detected.

- If you use "direct addressing" do you see ping and TNS ping going successfully?

   : both are works fine on Lab128

     

- Are there non-English letters in the name of host or service?

   : Yes,

     But I have been try "lab128.exe -nls=unset", same error was return.

I have try to install "lab128 v1.6.0". it's works fine.

Is some different v1.6.0 higer version?

Hi all.

InHee Lee, try removing oci.dll + oraociicus11.dll of a folder with a lab128 (1.7).
I resolved this way the error ORA-28547.
