Things are happening!

Hi everyone,

There will be a chapter meeting next Sunday, 11/7, at Redlands
Airport, and we intend to follow it up with flying (with critiquing)
in the aerobatic box. Those planning to compete at the upcoming
Tequila Cup may find this last available practice day useful. Because
of the potential marine layer along the coast, let's plan to start the
chapter meeting at 11am.

There're lots of exciting things on next week's agenda including:
consideration of Chapter 49 hosting a Minifest-type contest at
Redlands Airport as a kickoff of the 2011 season; planning for our
next judging school and/or practical clinic (like the last one that
Vicki conducted) with Brian Howard; and conducting chapter elections
for the 2011 officers and Board of Directors.

Speaking of chapter elections, we will be accepting nominations for
officer and director positions right up until Sunday. Please feel
free to email me if you would like to participate in a leadership
role. Historically, we have encouraged enthusiastic members to join
the Board of Directors so that the chapter could be responsive to
their needs and desires. This year will be no exception.
