Here are Colleen's most recent ramblings... and what great ramblings
they are. When she drafted them,
I'm sure she assumed that I'd never get around to publishing her
minutes from our last formal, chapter meeting.
Again, please forgive ME for any redundancy between this and my
immediately preceding posting.

Chapter 49 officers have been busy planning the coming year's
contests. The big news for 2011 is that we're kicking off the season
with a mini-fest contest to be held at Redlands Airport on March 19
(with registration and practice on March 18). This will be a joint
effort with Chapter 36, and it will mark the first time an aerobatic
contest has been held in the L.A. Basin since 1981! We are calling
our new mini "The Inland Empire Strikes Back." Casey Erickson has
generously volunteered to be CD for both the mini and our L.A. Gold
Cup contest (dubbed "Duel in the Desert" once again and scheduled for
May 5-7).

Margo Chase has, yet again, bestowed upon us such amazing artwork,
this time in the form of a poster to spread the good word about the
entire West Coast Contest Schedule. We are making these beautiful
posters available to all our "local" chapters. Look for them soon!!!

December marks the month in which we ask you to re-up your dues for
Chapter 49. The new cost is $25 and you can send your check to
Barrett Hines at 182 Silas Lane, Newbury Park CA 91320. Your dues
will help the Chapter plan and execute fun activities and contests.
We have an enthusiastic and dedicated set of officers this year and
hope to offer several different activities, including learning,
flying, and friendship. We need to strengthen our membership.
Introduce a friend to aerobatics, and please get your dues in!
