to LAAC - IAC Chapter 49
For those of you who missed the meeting (and who care to know what
happened), the high points are:
1. The chapter elections are coming up next month. Please shoot me
an email if you are interested in being either an officer or a member
of the Board of Directors. Also, feel free to nominate your friends
(or enemies) for these prestigious posts; we promise not to let them
know who'd "fingered 'em."
2. We realize that our membership desires critiquing/coaching
sessions, and we are pursuing the possibility of holding them at a
number of sites throughout our "greater Los Angeles" region.
3. Since Brian Howard comes to southern California annually to teach
the basic judge's school for interested folks out of Sunrise Aviation,
we are considering asking him to hold a complementary, practical
judging clinic for Chapter 49 in lieu of a second classroom offering.
We envision that additional clinic will be held outside, with pilots
intentionally flying less than perfect figures (any of you out there
capable of flying less than 10s?). Please, let us know if you might
be interested in attending this type of event (both on the ground and
in the air). Thanks!
4. We have decided to schedule future chapter meetings only on an as
needed basis, in contrast to "the first Saturday..." Furthermore,
we're hoping to make those less frequent meetings much more
interesting to the membership-at-large by incorporating guest
speakers, critiquing sessions, etc. And since our membership resides
over an expansive region (well over 100 miles across), we have
identified a few different places to hold such meetings. It's only
fair for us to bring these meetings to you.
5. Our next meeting will be held at Redlands Airport, with the date
TBD.
Well, that's all for now.
Wishing everyone Best of Luck and Skill at Borrego!
Andrew
