There used to be a sushi restaurant called Zipangu in Santa Monica
@ Lincoln & Broadway.

They had (my POV) the best sushi chef in town, his name is Yoshi.

The place closed a month ago, and I'm trying to locate where
chef Yoshi is working, now.

If anybody knows his whereabouts, please help.

You might try calling the California Sushi Academy in Venice. They have
a very active job placement service and seem to be doing a good job of
keeping track of every sushi chef in L.A.

I first went to Zipangu a couple of years ago; their sushi was pretty
good. What I DO remember was the sushi pizza (!!!!!)...a small,
individual pizza (a real one..in a real pizza oven) that, a minute
before it was done, was pulled out so the chef could throw a few kinds
of sushi on top..then back in the oven for another minute (YUM!)
Later on I brought some friends there and there was no more sushi
pizza (The beginning of the end, for sure)
The new one on Washington Blvd at Glencoe is pretty decent but the
main sushi guy's R E A L S L O W.........
Enjoy!

Sorry for any confusion.
Not a new Zipango but a new sushi bar.

I agree. I believe this new place is Korean/Japanese. No relation to
Zipango. You can eat fairly well here for a modest price, but watch out for
the specials which are way overpriced. If you want to eat excellent Sushi
at a modest price in the Marina area, try Tsuji No Hana in the mini-mall
corner (SE) of Lincoln and Mindinao behind Santa Monica bank.
