I am inspired by the Store Front Music project at Crashspace and
thought that maybe we can build the Create a Simple Solenoid Musical
Instrument at our Nov. meetup.

Here's the how-to: http://www.jameco.com/Jameco/workshop/diy/crashspace.html

The kit is $25 and I think we have to supply clay pots and bottles.

It seems like there are enough steps that we could break off into
groups and and get it done in a few hours.

What do you think?

Cool. I'd help, obviously.  The tricky part is that those kits don't include the acrylic to hold the solenoids in place, but I can make some of those up.

I'm brining it to DorkBot along with pictures of the San Diego project so lots of options for making noise based on sensors :)

Best,

I wanted to see your talk but Ripley fell asleep.

Are the pics from San Diego available online?

Hi Ripley! I totally understand.

Some of them are!

Tod has been great about posting to flickr as we go in a way I have not at all really:

We're going down again next week to tweak.

Super cool -- the ideas and the photos! This sounds like a great project, I'd love to go further down this road.
