Hi,

I just wanted to say hi to everyone that has joined recently. I've met
some of you in person and over email. I'm excited to see everyone
soon...hopefully at the next meetup!

Hi Tara!

I'm sorry to have missed Sunday, but really looking forward to the next one.

I've attached a picture of the San Diego project for folks to see - it uses Arduino boards, custom circuits, hacked commercial projects and lots of little motors.  It's a fun technology project. Nice to do something off the screen. We're going to make it all open source - I'll be working on the documentation next week.

I'd love to know what other folks are working on.

Best,

Hello, tacos!

Just wanted to say hey to everyone and introduce myself. I'm bummed
that I missed the first meeting.

I'm super excited for this group. In college, I worked at the
University's electronics shop, building custom cables and boards for
students and staff. That got me addicted to soldering irons. Then I
went on to be the "cable gal" for all of the residence halls-
spelunking in the underground tunnels to help pull cables and fiber.
The fact that I was a woman was commented on quite often. Nowadays, I
keep my hands pretty clean doing front end web development. A little
TOO clean...

I'm REALLY looking forward to working on some projects with like-
minded females! Right now, I pretty much just play with cameras and
animation programs, though I am attempting to dive into the "soft
circuit" world to build myself a glowy outfit for an aerial silks
routine set to the music of TRON. If anyone has any advice for me, I
would be very happy for it.

I love the idea of building a solenoid musical instrument next meetup
and look forward to meeting everyone.

And Carlyn, that looks awesome!

Hi Courtney!

I look forward to getting my hands dirty with you! And not from my
toddler smearing oatmeal all over them. :D
