You guys! I saw some of you LA ladies having a discussion on the Downton post and realized I was probably too late to jump in there, BUT: does anyone want to get together to rewatch season 2? And discuss how awesome/frustrating it was?  Or maybe we can at least start an email thread for interested parties to discuss?  Let me know!!

Excessive punctuation!

I haven't seen season 2 yet and definitely want to see it!  I am BEHIND THE TIMES.

You aren't too late! I was discussing it with Candice, but we didn't make actual plans--unless someone else was discussing it too? In that case I don't know.

I would totally get together to watch season 2 though! I recorded season 1 when PBS reshowed it in December and I'm recording the Season 2 episodes as they air. So if you want to do Season 1 we could watch it at my apartment, but Season 2 would probably have to be somewhere else with streaming-to-TV capabilities. Or later after PBS airs it all? Whatever you guys are up for?

I won't comment on the second season, since Amy hasn't seen it, except to say that it totally merits excessive punctuation. !!!

no punctuation is too excessive for DOWNTON!!! I would definitely
rewatch season 2 with any/all takers, and had been considering
rewatching season 1. I would also happily agonize over tiny details
via email. i have never ever been able to exhaust my need to discuss
this television show. Again, my place isn't the best choice for TV
stuff, but i will gladly bring a food product to accompany whatever
delightful thing Christy plans to make.
i have too many feelings about this show. my heart can't hold them in
any longer.

Yeah, it was Christy's/Candice's conversation but I figured it would be easier to move the conversation here if people weren't still hanging out in the thread (do you guys get emails if someone responds to your posts? I always have to go back and check my old comments and sometimes I forget).

I'm up for anything... we could start with Season 1, or do the first few episodes of Season 2 in a couple of weeks.  Maybe just depending on who is interested and how much they have seen?

Unrelatedly, is anyone going to the craft pin-up in Santa Monica? Candice, Facebook seems to suggest that you are. I think it will work for me; will be fun to meet some more 'pinners!

I have yet to see Season 1 (can you believe it??), so I would totally
be up for starting there. However, if there are more votes for
starting with Season 2, I can catch up on my own :)

Don't have a TV so cannot host, but happy to bring refreshments to the
location of choice.

I'm sadly about to be TV-less (roommate is moving out), so I can't host anything either, but I'm also happy to bring alcohol and snacks along with me to anyone's home!  If it works for you guys, Sundays are best for me, or Monday or Saturday evenings.

Haha, that is good news about the TV situation! I think if there is more interest in starting with season 2 then we should do Amy's house. I've only got the first episode of season 2 here, although I'm happy to host if the consensus is to start with season 1. Votes? I've finally finagled my roommate into watching, so I might be leaning towards season 2 right now, but I could go either way.

How does Sunday the 22nd or Sunday the 29th work? What's this Santa Monica Pin-Up? If it was being coordinated through Fb I might have missed hearing about it....

The pin-up that's being organized on facebook is on the 28th at the Urban Craft Center, so any Sunday activities wouldn't conflict.  Maybe the 29th would be good for season 2 viewing, since it'd give anyone interested who hasn't watched the show yet two weeks to get through season 1.
What do you guys think?

That day works for me.  I also just realized that we could potentially do it at my boyfriend's giant house in Studio City (/bragging), which he probably will only be in for another couple of months. IThere is a giant TV and tons of space (sorry, now I'm done bragging) so it would work well for sitting around watching things.  Amy's apartment is great too, so either way is good. But he said that we are welcome to use the house so it might be fun for this round while he is living there?

Dear everyone,
Do we want to try our Downton date again this weekend?  I'm hoping things will work out for us this time around.  I can do either Saturday or Sunday, I just need to know which day in advance (I'll need to go into work on the other day).  I'm leaning towards Saturday,  as I want to give a Sun-Thurs work week schedule a try and the library needs help covering circulation over here on Sunday evenings.
Also, if any of you ladies or your friends are library people, we're going to be hiring a night supervisor and a serials person over here at USC Doheny Lib!

I am skiing on Saturday (which should be hilariously terrible) and have an afternoon get-together on Sunday, so this weekend is not ideal. By all means, please party it up without me! But if this weekend happens to not be the best for everyone, I will have more availability in the future.

I can do Sunday! Not Saturday though, alas. Let me know the decision and I'll bake something.

If others aren't terribly in favor of this weekend, then i might vote for a different one as well--I can't do Saturday, and Sunday is the superbowl (which isn't terribly Pin of me to care about, i know). Is there a way that a Friday night might be more convenient for people? (not this friday, but another, theoretical friday).

Oh right, football!  I had forgotten all about the football.
Okay, let's shoot for a better date.  Like, next Thursday/Friday/Saturday evening?
