I think a free room sounds good--but you should discuss this with the new film planning group I am copying in this email--I will add it to the agenda for Monday meeting, and I am not sure we should have it the same day as the fed event or our event--why not discuss it on that list and propose whatever the group thinks best. I will be sending out more info regarding the 25th event later tonight or early morning with a meeting reminder--it appears that Pershing Square is either not available--or too expensive!

it would be great to get the county fed involved. since mar 26th is a day of action, maybe we can also tie that into our event!!! and show a videos of theirs, or make announcements etc.
or----hold it after the 26th and show video from the event.
you all may have gone over this territory. I am up to my eyeballs in work and family issues. going back to nyc again feb 13th till 16th to help my mom make transition home from hospital. and organizing fair. will send you planning announcement.

Hi Vivian. Your event sounds interesting. Here's the deal on the WGAW
Theater. It is available for rental
http://www.wga.org/theater/theater_rates.html but I imagine you don't
have that sort of budget. If you would like to pursue getting a waiver
from the board I can help facilitate that request. Requests need to made
in writing, in detail. If the board grants a waiver there are still
costs associated with opening the theater (approximately $1000) to pay
the projectionist and the building manager and parking attendant etc.
The board is more likely to approve a waiver if the organization seeking
the waiver agrees to cover the costs.
Let me ask a couple a questions as there may be an alternative. What
kind of turnout are you expecting? The theater seats 540 so unless you
are expecting that sort of crowd you may be paying for capacity you
don't need. If it's around 80-100 we have a multi-purpose room with
screening capibilities that we may be able to let you use at no cost.
Hope this helps. Let me know what you think.
Todd

Todd-
Hope you are doing well. We're once again working on the labor and
social justice fair--this year the third annual.
But first, I wanted to contact you for a group of labor and community
groups that are working on the 100th commemoration of the Triangle Fire.
We were wondering if it would be possible to hold a screening of one or
two docs about the Triangle fire on or near the date of the anniversary
on March 25th at the Writer's Guild.
How would you advise us to look into this? Let me know whether this is
an insane request or not.
Thanks!
