Ruby & Socrata API

[Open Data]

Hi everyone.  Todd asked me to post this to the group.

I am hoping to entice you guys to have your next meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday August 1st.  I have been in contact with the folks at Socrata and they will be doing a live demo of their API using Ruby just for us.  As you may (or may not know), Socrata is one of the platforms the city of Lexington is considering using to host open data.

I would be thrilled if you all could make it.

Do we know what they're going to demo? Given that most of what the
city is storing so far is geo data, it would be nice to see something
that turns the city's data into layers on OpenStreetMap?
