Chris Conrad's book HEMP LIFELINE TO THE FUTURE - The Unexpected Answer for Our Environmental and Economic Recovery, Second Edition, 1994 - so am I in violation of international copyright laws for quoting that work that I thought this thread was about?

Thanks so much for your query with regards to International copyright violations, #WeAreNotAttorneys & #WeCannotGiveYouLegalAdvice  We appreciate your concerns and if your intent is for informative sharing purposes not-for-profit there is rarely a violation; and Chris Conrad has most generously authorized his use of selected texts and of the title itself as this years' theme, However this thread is not about Chris Conrad's book #HempLifelineToTheFuture alone.  This thread is #KyotoHempForum: online forums and groups to support the virtual participation in the First International Hemp Environmental Forum taking place on July 2, 2016 at the Kyoto International Conference Center in Japan.  Please tell all your friends!

Report from 2000

National Risk Management Research Laboratory Office of Research and Development U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Cincinnati, Ohio 45268

EPA/600/R-99/107 February 2000

https://clu-in.org/download/remed/introphyto.pdf

"Phytoremediation is an emerging technology that uses various plants to degrade, extract, contain, or immobilize contaminants from soil and water. This technology has been receiving attention lately as an innovative, cost-effective alternative to the more established treatment methods used at hazardous waste sites. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) seeks to protect human health and the environment from risks associated with hazardous waste sites, while encouraging development of innovative technologies such as phytoremediation to more efficiently clean up these sites. This document reports the results of phytoremediation efforts as originally reported by researchers. No attempts were made to validate data obtained from the literature."

"Hemp and cesium accumulation • A study done in 2005 by Vandenhove... He's tested hemp's ability to uptake of radiocesium. – Sandy soils used to emulate Chernobyl conditions – Used a lysimeter and pots in greenhouse. • Soil was contaminated with approx. 326 kBq/kg in pots and 13.0 kBq/kg in the lysimeter and harvested after 186/136 days. • Chernobyl accident was contaminated at 1480 kBq/m^2"
