CLONES members, we're going to try to get something together for
Halloween. When I say "we",
I mean whoever wants to help! If anyone wants to comment or suggest or
offer, please email me at
cooper...@gmail.com
Since the time is short, I was thinking the Sunday after Halloween
would probably be better,
that is, November 4th. But please let me know your ideas about that.
However, the main objective right now is to find a place where we can
have it. Most of the people
who arranged previous venues are either out of town or not very active
so we need to think of new
ideas (or, if someone could arrange one of the previous places that
would be great, too). If people
will come out to Otsu, or Kusatsu, I may be able to find a place here
but I don't have a lot of
connections in Kyoto to get a place there. Again, any suggestions
would be much appreciated.
Sorry that this is all coming so late. I know how much Halloween means
to the kids so I hope we
can make it a good one.
Eric
Hi Folks,
Hisashiburi!! I guess the last time some of us were together was at Easter at Hiei Daira. As many of us have our kids now off to uni and high schools overseas, there is less and less activity being organized by us.
Re the inquiries about Halloween, there really is nothing planned at this point. MaryBeth and I were the LONG TIME planners, then Susan Pavloska and crew took over at the wonderful Doshisha place. With Susan in Paris on sabbatical this year, that venue as far as I know isn't likely.
Does anyone have any ideas where a party might be held? Even a house with a big garden (???) or a local community center. It is very late for that, me thinks, but it is worth a try. Basically the parties that we held in the past took several weeks to plan, but if you think simple, something will be possible. DESHOO!??
Eric Cooper contacted me and said that he would be willing to be more or less in charge of organizing something this year. So, any of you folks with young kids, please get in touch and see what you can come up with. I would be happy to help advise and help in any way I can.
Also, Jeremy, I don't really know who is on the CLONES list. There is a number of people that have been coming to events for the past several years, but may or may not be on the list of the old CLONES.
Well folks, that's all I can offer just now. Hope something can be organized for the wee trick-or-treaters!
All the best,
Patricia
I know Halloween is something special for the kids.
Our children enjoyed this autumn festival (when they were
young).
I just thought about some suggestion to feel Halloween.
Some years ago, some of CLONES members enjoyed Halloween
parade on Kitayama street. It might be
little different feeling what you are thinking and
seeking, but certainly you can enjoy being someone else in
costume.
The parade application will be accepted by TODAY.
So anyone wants to try.
Our son has been joining this parade with a group of his
soccer team since one of the board members of this
Halloween event is a soccer guy. Also, his team uniform is
orange and they will parade with their team uniform.
