realXtend's goals and hopes for collaboration are simple:

1. reduce our workload and simplify our product line by selecting
standardized solutions for critical (but non-core) parts; allowing us
to concentrate on our core focus: making a multi-purpose VW viewer
- specifically use CB to give us access to modern asset/CDN,
structured storage, authentication/authorization, simulator federation
services

2. share code with sirikata, IntensityEngine, other any other viewer
projects that share common technology elements such as C++, Python,
Ogre3D, Asset handling, UI, Web browsing, etc.
- realXtend viewer intends to work with multiple scripting languages,
so non-C++ libraries are always welcome -- even if only to inform our
own API design

3. ensure realXtend is state-of-the-art, and avoid costly forks, by
working with upstream projects to converge on agreement about the best
technologies available

4. pursue realXtend's stated goal of not being dependent on any single
server or protocol implementation -- perhaps one day being a universal
viewer

5. pursuing a larger common market place through mutual common
advancement of state-of-the-art -- "growing the pie"

6. build complementary working relationships with the entities behind
these products in order to extend our own sphere of participation
- specifically realXtend is interested in working closer with academic
institutions around the world to help bring leading research
technology to implementation within our products

realXtend is based in Finland and is funded by Nokia, local
government, and private investors. It holds no patents what so ever,
and only holds copyright to its Apache 2.0 distributed code.

Cheers,
