OK sports fans this is getting exciting. Please invite anyone who you think would get something out of this meet up. Its gonna be pretty awesome.

Right now we’ve got two talks planned — one from Ron (@ronnorthrip) and one from Allen (@pyromanfo). They’ll take about 15 to 20 minutes a piece and should kick us off right. Then we’re gonna open up the floor for discussions. We’re looking for your input on what topics to cover in the future, what frameworks are important to you, and what tools you like best. This is your chance to point us in the right direction, and we’d love to hear from you all. If you can’t make it send us an email with your ideas - info at kyjsug dot org.

Session # 1: JavaScript State of the Union

Ron is going to talk about how JavaScript has come a long way from simple impertives included in HTML. There are more places you can use it, and new toolkits to help you take it further. The most popular language in the world is yours to command. Topics will include: Roots; AJAX; Frameworks; JSON; Venues.

Session # 2: Underscore and Backbone Frameworks

Allen is going to lead us through our first discussion on a really useful set of frameworks that have become very popular recently. Underscore is a utility framework that adds all kinds of useful tools to the core javascript language. Backbone is a modeling and event management framework that gives structure to javascript applications.

So friends, don’t miss it. We’ll see you next week.
