We have some neat programming being broadcast today. We still have a lot of work in front of us, but we have started the discussion on how to better serve our community and while the discussions have been arduous at times it is beginning to yield a positive result.

KXCIers,

I wanted to draw your attention to our special programming today.
Amanda Shauger has worked extremely hard to bring special segments to the
air over the course of the day.

At the bottom of almost every hour, KXCI will be highlighting some
viewpoints and perspectives from the community including comments from the
Arizona Informant newspaper and University of Arizona's Dr. Julian
Kunnie. At the top of the 11 am, 2 pm, and 5 pm hour, KXCI will be airing
short pieces of Dr. King's lesser known speeches including a speech on
the Vietnam War, a speech supporting the striking sanitation workers in
Memphis in 1968 and a sermon toward the end of his life.

I want to thank Amanda for all of her hard work and newcomer Alex Darby
for taking the time to organize this day. We will keep trying new
things and working toward achieving a new standard in local production of
non-musical programming.
