Garden Organizing Meeting Sunday, March 24 (Misty Mountain Coffee)

Hello,

Please join us for a garden organizing meeting for KW Urban Harvester in a couple of Sundays (Sunday, March 24, 2013 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM). We will be meeting in the back room of Misty Mountain Coffee at 33 Queen Street S. in Kitchener. A map with directions is at http://mapq.st/WNMXTH .

Here are some of the items we will hope to be discussing:

• Garden plot assignment - A few things to note here:
1. If you were involved last year, you hopefully know which plot you have.
2. For those who answered my recent email expressing interest in getting a plot, we will discuss which plot you will get.
3. For those who have not gotten a plot, but would still like to get involved, (a) there is still the communal plot that we could use help with, and (b) we can put you on a waiting list in case a plot becomes available.
   
• Seedling party - We may want to get together and plant seedlings, like last year. This would be a good time to discuss this.
• Garden site basics - Where is the water source, garden tools etc. And will we be getting compost and woodchips?
• Yard Share program - This is where people make their yards available for gardening. It would be great if people spread the word about this. You can read more about it on our website at http://www.kwurbanharvester.org/yard-share .
• Other-than-gardening activities - Do we want to get together at any other time to do things besides gardening (i.e. have a potluck)?

I am sure there is much I have missed, but this should get us started.

p.s. Please do not bring your own food to this meeting. People from other groups have been bringing their own food, and this has been causing problems for the coffee shop.
