Hello Gardeners!

The warmer weather is coming and KW Urban Harvester is busy gearing up for another gardening season. We just had our first meeting of the year today and a rough summary of what we discussed and decided upon is below. It includes plans for a seedling planting party on Saturday, April 6th! Please take a look below so you do not miss out on this and other things.

Seedling Planting Party!

We're having a seedling planting party this Saturday, April 6 from 2-4 pm at 111 Greenbrier Drive (Debbie New's house). Bring your seeds, soil and trays and we'll get together to plant seedlings for the upcoming growing season! We'll swap planting ideas and tips, share seeds, and just generally get ready for the warmer weather. Remember to take your planting a home with you to germinate them in your home and transplant them to your garden when the time is ready. There will be some seeds, soil, and trays provided, so do not worry if you don't have any.

Don't Have a Plot?

Not to worry! Even if you don't have a garden plot, you can help out with (and harvest from) our communal plot. And there's our Yard Share program where we match up people with gardening space in their yards with people who want to garden (details at http://www.kwurbanharvester.org/yard-share ). So there's lots of ways to get involved!

Compost Order Being Submitted!

We are requesting another load of compost for the WLU Northdale plot. Please stay tuned for the announcement for when it comes in. The more people to help us move the compost and spread it on the gardens the better.
