Hello,
Just wanted to let you all know that I am making
a presentation on the Highland Quarry at Waterloo City Council on
Monday night. In case you haven't heard, this is the biggest quarry
application ever in Canada. It would span 5 km, go down 236 feet (deeper
than Niagara Falls), and result in 300 trucks involved in hauling
aggregate an hour. And it is situated at the headwaters of five rivers,
including the Grand.
Having others attend would be helpful to show local
concern for this potentially disastrous initiative. I've been told to
arrive no later than 8
pm. Spread the word!
Take care,
Alisa
