August update

[KW Urban Harvester]

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all having a fun and restful summer, and are able to enjoy the sunshine and warmth! Although it has been quite dry these past weeks, there are still plants ready to harvest in the Northdale garden plot. Please feel free to take home as much as you will eat, and more if you'd like to share with others. We have more than enough. I'm happy to see that people are coming out to the garden on Wednesdays - your hard work is definitely showing.

With increased working hours I've found it hard to make it out to the garden as much as I had planned. Looking ahead, I will be away for a week and moving again, and I'm afraid my visits to the garden will continue to be infrequent for the rest of the summer. Please email me if you have any questions about the garden you think I'd be able to help with. (Fanis and I are still trying to find the other hose key - I hope the one that's there is working.) Also please feel free to use the shovel, spade and hand rake I purchased - they should still be in the shed. I'll see if I can get reimbursed for those so they can stay with KW Urban Harvesters.

I was thinking of asking LSPIRG to do a call-out to students for a Coordinator for KW Urban Harvesters for the coming year, as I just don't feel like I'm capable of fulfilling all the things I should be doing as coordinator. Having a Laurier student as coordinator would be great experience for them, and would possibly add more students to the group. However I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. If you would like to keep KW Urban Harvesters solely a community group, or you or someone you know wants to take on the role of coordinator, or you have other ideas completely, please please please email me because I'd love to hear from you.
