Well I will keep this mail very short and simple :
Popular demands means that the API being developed is very similar to
twitter's API allowing full compatibility with all the apps.

However, if you developers think that a better job can be done (which
i believe is very much the case) ... i would let you decide what kind
of an API would suit your needs the best. If you want OAuth, why and
how will it make us better.

I really want some opinions, right from the developers and engineers
who *rule the world* :).

Hi,

One thing which I really don't like from twitters API is that I have
to give my username and password for twitter to enable 3rd party to
acess my twits. I would like an implementation like friendfeed has or
jaiku which I think is really simple to implement.

Hey Alfred ,

Thanks for starting the proceeding, I agree that the twitter API are potentially unsafe ... I myself do not like them. I will though have a look at other APIs that we should look like .... in my understanding jaiku has a very clean API, no wonder google showed interest in them.

All in all, the API is going to be out real soon ... feeling a bit stretched as usually :P, lots of things to be rolled out real soon. Stay tuned guys.

As Alfred has mention, The problem with twitter api is that i have to give my password to explore it, But as pownce,jaiku and friendfeed api's are based on OAUTH they share a key for the third party access.This makes it more reliable.

As Alfred has mentioned, The problem with twitter api is that I have to give my password to explore it, But as pownce,jaiku and friendfeed api's are based on OAUTH they share a key for the third party access.This makes it more reliable.
