Welcome to the Centre for Indigegogy
The Center for Indigegogy is currently offering two Certificate Programs:

The Indigenous Educators' Certificate in Indigegogy is designed for educators who wish to develop the capacity for bringing Indigenous ways of knowing and learning to their curriculum.


The Decolonizing Education Certificate is for educators who want to develop their capacity to understand Indigenous perspectives in the history of colonization to contemporary realities in Canada.

Indigenous Educators' Certificate in Indigegogy
August 17, 18, 19, 2017

Engaging in Indigegogy requires grounded and centred educators. This inaugural module is foundational to introducing participants to Indigegogy. It provides experiential learning for participants as they begin to “Step into the Centre” of themselves and their learning journey. This module will be facilitated both in circle and on the land. It will aim to increase the participants’ awareness and understanding of self in their wholistic teaching and learning journey.

Location: Faculty of Social Work, Wilfrid Laurier University, Kitchener, ON (120 Duke Street).

Decolonizing Education Certificate
September 29 & 30,  2017
This module begins with cultural history and provides an overview of colonial history. It begins to establish the context of contact and colonization and introduces cultural learning protocols, land protocols and Indigegogy.

Location: Faculty of Social Work, Wilfrid Laurier University, Kitchener, ON (120 Duke Street).
