the Internet has changed. We've moved on from text-based news groups to
web-based sites like Kijiji, EBay and Craig's List.
The number of postings to KW.FORSALE has declined steadily for the last two years.
In the last three months this group has had respectively 8, 6 and 6 legitimate postings.
In that same time period we averaged 85 messages a day to the group "In Bin". Put it
another way, of approximately 8000 messages received, 7980 have been SPAM and
only 20 messages have actually been on-topic for the group.
As a result, on June 1, 2009 moderation of this group will cease. This will not be the first of the
moderated KW groups to go quiet, and despite many complaints about wanting the
group un-moderated, no one has ever bothered to do so.
To the people who have supported KW.FORSALE over the years, I wish you
good luck in the future.
